Veridas Deploys Facial Biometrics at Argentina’s El Más Monumental Stadium

Veridas is implementing facial recognition technology at El Más Monumental stadium in Argentina, facilitating rapid and secure entry for fans. The biometric system, developed alongside RiverID, allows for quick enrollment and identification. Additionally, Veridas has launched its identity verification platform on Google Cloud Marketplace and is working on a digital identity wallet in Navarra to enhance access to government services.

Veridas is deploying its facial recognition technology at El Más Monumental, the largest football stadium in South America, accommodating 85,000 fans. In collaboration with RiverID, the FaceID system will facilitate rapid entry for attendees using facial ticketing technology, enhancing security and efficiency. Fans will pre-register their biometrics via mobile devices, uploading selfies and identification documents for seamless access on game day, with 300 FaceID terminals to be installed by December.

Efficiency is a primary focus for Veridas; the enrollment process takes approximately ten seconds, and the system can recognize fans within a second, processing over 60 entries per minute. Additionally, this biometric solution counters fraud, impersonation, and unauthorized entry, marking a significant advancement in stadium access control technology.

Eduardo Azanza, CEO of Veridas, expressed pride in partnering with River Plate, emphasizing the development of a “robust, efficient, private, and secure solution” aimed at enhancing the fan experience. Veridas intends to set a new standard for football experiences not only in Argentina but also globally.

Veridas has also made its identity verification platform accessible through the Google Cloud Marketplace, which broadens the availability of its biometric solutions for diverse businesses. This development enables global organizations to integrate Veridas’ verification tools easily, helping mitigate the rising threat of identity theft and fraud.

In addition to their collaboration with River Plate, Veridas is active in launching a digital identity wallet for the government of Navarra, Spain. This initiative aims to enhance equal access to government services by focusing on user-centered design, informed by input from individuals with disabilities and those less familiar with digital tools.

Veridas is committed to creating a comprehensive solution that safeguards clients against advanced fraud techniques, including deepfakes. As of 2024, the company has successfully conducted over 100 million identity verifications, solidifying its presence in the international biometric verification landscape.

Veridas is revolutionizing entry processes at El Más Monumental with innovative facial recognition technology. The collaboration with RiverID enhances security and expedites access for a large number of fans. Additionally, their partnership with Google Cloud showcases their commitment to combating identity fraud, while their focus on digital inclusion in Navarra highlights their dedication to accessible technology.
