CardLab has introduced the Access biometric access control card, featuring the FPC1323 T-Shape sensor from Fingerprint Cards. This card aims to replace passwords for secure log-ins and physical access. It ensures offline biometric verification for identity protection, superior speed, and proven security through FIDO 1+ certification, with support for NFC and BLE technologies.
CardLab has unveiled a cutting-edge biometric access control card, named “Access,” which includes a sensor from Fingerprint Cards. This new card aims to eliminate passwords for secure log-ons to websites and digital systems, while also providing physical access control. The FPC1323 T-Shape sensor integrated into the card is designed for quick responsiveness with minimal lag, enabled by self-learning technology.
The biometric verification performed by the Access card takes place offline, enhancing user identity security. The access control card boasts exceptional speed, robust security validated by FIDO 1+ certification, and compatibility with Near-Field Communication (NFC) as well as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technologies. These features position the card as a versatile solution for modern security needs.
Adam Philpott, CEO of Fingerprint Cards, noted the historical challenges in biometric cards due to fragmented infrastructures, which can impede user experience. He commended CardLab’s new product, Access, describing it as a considerable advancement in the market. The FPC1323 T-Shape sensor is quicker and more power-efficient than previous models, improving security and usability.
Frank Sandeløv, CEO of CardLab, emphasized the card’s goal of simplifying authentication by merging logical and physical access into a single device. He indicated that the integration of the FPC1323 sensor guarantees swift and secure biometric verification, contributing to a seamless user experience. CardLab and Fingerprint Cards previously collaborated on a biometric smart card in 2021 to facilitate the storage of multiple credentials.
The launch of CardLab’s new Access card represents a significant improvement in the biometric access control industry. By utilizing advanced sensor technology from Fingerprint Cards, the card ensures secure and efficient user authentication across various systems, both digital and physical. This product not only enhances security but also provides a user-friendly experience, addressing the longstanding challenges within the sector.
