Innovatrics ABIS Algorithm Achieves Top Rank in Latent Fingerprint Evaluation

Innovatrics’ updated algorithm for latent fingerprint identification has achieved rank 1 in the NIST ELFT, recording a 98.2% hit rate. It excelled in the FBI-provided dataset, demonstrating low FNIR and FPIR rates. The algorithm also delivered top accuracy against the DoD’s largest dataset. Innovatrics has announced that its updated biometric algorithm for latent fingerprint identification has achieved a rank 1 status in the latest U.S. government Evaluation of Latent Fingerprint Technologies (ELFT). This algorithm, which was submitted to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on December 11, secured a remarkable rank-1 hit rate of 98.2 percent. It also ranked first in utilizing Enhanced Feature Set (EFS) features and in reviewing 5 ranks against the FBI-provided solved dataset 1, which includes 516 probe images, resulting in a false non-identification rate (FNIR) of 0.0659 at a false positive identification rate (FPIR) of 0.01.

In addition, when evaluated against the Department of Defense (DoD) Dataset 1—comprising 5,259 latent fingerprint samples—Innovatrics displayed the highest accuracy, demonstrating significant capabilities in both rank and search accuracy metrics.
